Watch Cat

I love to watch all the dogs taking their masters to the park in the evening.
So glad I am a safe distance away that they don't even notice me.
If I meowed right now it wouldn't be pretty.

Chilling on the front steps

I wonder where all the cats in the hood hang
out during the day...

If I'm patient maybe Slo-Mo will come visit.
He is grey and white and a much bigger kitty than me.
He comes by sometimes in the evenings, but I'm
not allowed to go out after dark.

Meowme says I have lost 2 lbs since she switched
my diet to a healthy more natural food.

I guess that means I will be able to out run
Slo-Mo if he drops by.

P.S. I have been thinking about my blogger friend 222 lately and hope that things get better.
 Been there.

Sunday is for climbing trees

I got to go out in the front yard today. This doesn't happen very often, but I was being really clingy to Meowme all day so she gave in and took me out with her.

Hmm...I think I will climb the tree.

 ...up I go!

This is kind of tricky...too many branches in the way.

Ok Meowme....I'll get down.

See tree...I can climb you if I want to! (evil howl)

I think I will just chill here on the porch for a while.

My new Squirrel Friend

4 mornings in a row now my new squirrel girl friend has come for a visit. We like to try to touch each other through the glass. I wish she could come in to play with all my toys.

A day in the life...

My Meowme eventually came home from her trip. I almost thought I was going to have to go live with my Aunt Feather. This would have been a disaster. You see, my Aunt Feather has birds…VERY BIG birds. She told me that one in particular is almost as big as me. One of my passions is chasing feathers, but chasing feathers still attached to the bird could be a challenge. Let’s hope I never see these guys in person if this feather is any indication.

I caught my first chipmunk a few weeks ago. I didn’t hurt him, don’t worry. I’m hoping he will still be around in the spring. He was such fun all summer teasing me and letting me almost catch him…well to his surprise I pounced on him while his back was to me!

It all happened so fast that Meowme didn’t have time to react. I didn’t use my claws or teeth so he easily slipped away. I sure put a scare into him though, I think he went into early hibernation.

I thought I saw something moving in the distance…

…off to see what I can get into next…

Party for One on a Saturday Night

This is my Pink Panther head...he is my favorite toy in the whole world.

Wild Mountain Catnip.... my Saturday night drug of choice.
Meowme was taking too long to get the lid off so I helped her....oops....

For some added fun I dragged Pinky's face through the happy nip. I don't think he really liked it much

I get silly on my Happy Nip....it gets everywhere. I sneeze when it goes up my nose. Meowme says I'm not supposed to snort the nip, so I eat it when she's not looking.

I'll probably be up all night , look at the size of my pupils....maybe I'll go bug meowme while she sleeps. She hates it when I race upside down underneath the bed. Oooh but it feels so good on my back.

Saturday morning paws, claws and prints.

Cat wants out....no....changed my mind let me back in!
Too cold on the toes.

Now I must spend time cleaning my paws....again.
Phew... stinky when they get wet.
Well not really, but I make this funny face when doing a serious deep clean.

Stretching out for my morning brushing from dad.
I want my coat to be all glittery.
See my claws? Don't let meowme see them or she will be giving me another manicure.
I don't like manicures...she always tricks me into them.

While Meowme is away....the Bengal will play.....

So I like to climb my scratchy post...

I like to play with my seagull feathers that Meowme collected from the beach one day....

I didn't do it...Meowme...I didn't break part of the black thingy....honest, cross my paws and hope to die.

Taking Charge

Sooooo tired of you pointing that big black thingy in my face and momentarily blinding me.....so tired.

I'm plotting to steal this blog from my meowme, since SHE never posts here anymore....too busy sticking that black thingy in my face.

Bengals are smart, I think I can post a pic or two. She thinks I just step on the keys to annoy her....and yes I do have two ears!

DAY 4 - Sat.Sept 12 2009

Cheetah trying to get my attention while I work on my computer. He tried unsuccessfully to open the cupboard door.
I took a short break as it was time to manicure his carpet shredders.

Ruh...Roh....

… now see what you did!

Not that he is a fat cat, but he is determined. I was on the phone with my sister when this all unfolded right before my eyes. Cheetah jumped on to the end table and decided he was going to park his little butt between the lamp and my Aloe Vera plant. There was about 6 inches of space so as he sat the plant started to slide, giving him a bit more room for him to squeeze into. One last shove and over the plant went. I have to confess that if I didn’t neglect my plants so bad he may have had a harder time of shoving it over. When the plant toppled I realized that the soil was as dry as a dust storm in the Sahara. Cheetah took one look at me, jumped down and went into stealth mode, slinking out of the room. I had to get off the phone to go get the camera, as I knew curiosity killed the cat and he would be back shortly to survey the damage.

Cats are so predictable. I didn’t yell at him, as it didn’t appear that he did it on purpose, but cats can be sneaky. Cheetah’s character is a bit different than any cat I have ever lived with in the past as he has quite the opposite in your face kind of personality once he gets to know you. So a few minutes pass and he slowly enters the room switching to stealth mode low to the floor. He cautiously returns to the scene of the crime, sniffing and surveying from every angle. Finally when he figured it was a lost cause he jumped onto his scratching post perch and viewed the whole scene from a higher vantage point.

I cleaned up the remains of the Aloe Vera that needed to be re-potted for a while so now I have one less thing on my to do list tomorrow……
Cheetah, please remind me to water the plants .......

New Addition to our Family

Patience finally paid off and we finally adopted a cat. I have been wanting to do this for almost a year now but something always seemed to happen and the arrangements would fall through. This handsome fella was my last attempt a few weeks ago and since I had not heard anything I figured this person either changed her mind or gave the cat to someone else. With the holidays and her work schedule she said time was running out as her lease was up and she had to find Cheetah a good home before the end of the month. She finally called on Thursday evening. We made arrangements to both go look at the cat to see what his temperament was like. The owner was happy that Cheetah actually was good with us because she said he didn't just take to everyone. We had to make a quick stop at the local Pet Smart to get a cat carrier and a litter box. I could finally unload the kitty litter and container of food I had stashed in my trunk for weeks now.
Once we got home and let him out of the carrier, he went up the stairs and straight under the bed where he remained until we turned in for the night. At that time he decided to jump up on the bed and settle down by my feet curling up and purring himself to sleep. He stayed in the same spot all night and then got up to eat a couple of bites of food. He checked out his new litter box and then headed right back under the bed where he spent most of Saturday. Once in a while he would come out for a petting and then head back under. When it was time for bed Saturday night Cheetah was already warming in his spot at the foot of the bed purring loudly. He got up around 4am to have a bite to eat and a drink, then came back to his spot on the bed. About 7 am he ventured out of the bedroom and down the hall to see what was making the noise in the kitchen. A couple of times he ran to the bedroom but stopped in the doorway and peered down the hall. Most of the afternoon was spent curled up asleep in the chair in the rec room. I think he is missing his old family and is going to need lots of love and patience adjusting to his new home. I snapped a couple of photos of him on Saturday during one of his brave moments as he stared up at the lens.

He reminds me of Puss 'n Boots from the movie "Shrek" in this photo.
